Rumour around the place is that the Pigs are set for a name change in the future. Also, the involvement of Andrew Gaze.
The older rumour was that the Gazes might take an NBL team to Hong Kong, so we'll see what happens.

My vote is for the West Sydney Wassups?. (Question mark is part of the nickname)
Nickname will also appeal to sub-editors who by pathological desire must shorten every team nickname for headlines, in becoming the 'Sups?.
(Urban myth: the Houston Astros thought they could get around the name-shortening by shortening it first (instead of Astronauts) - only for sub-editors to do it anyway by calling them the 'Stros.)
Dont think so, given its link to our state history, rather than a marketing "handle"...
Changing it would be unfortunate IMO.
