NBA 1 on 1 tournament

If the NBA had a 1 on 1 tournament who would win? I think someone like Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant or for an outside chance Dirk Nowitzki(although his speed could be questioned against the guards)What does everyone think?

Kobe, Lebron, or even someone like KG, is fairly fast and agile for a big man.

yeah kobe, lebron, KG, Dirk, Wade, Carmelo would be top line picks.

second tier i would go with marion and amare, yao and t-mac.

i guess it depends who they play?
KG V Kobe....
KG V Dirk....

Tough to call!

If steve nash started with the ball he'd win every time. I vote for Dwight howard, however

Surely Kobe for a blend of speed, athleticism and shooting ability?

10 years ago, Scottie Pippen, hands down. Awesome mix of speed, athleticism, height + ability to handle the ball, get to the rack, shoot, play strong defence, block shots, steal the ball off the dribble.

Can't think of a similar type player currently though... Kobe, LeBron and D-Wade would be tough match-ups, but could they stop their opponent scoring?

I would have Kobe would be tough to beat, unstoppable multifaceted scorer and outstanding defensive player. Plus he's got that whole hitting his opponent in the head thing going on too.

The Cavalier at Yaysports NBA ran a one-on-one all-star tournament via the web last year, with Paul Pierce ultimately winning.

Many of the links are now broken (his website has undergone massive changes), but the whole thing was a hoot. For what it's worth, there was a serious upcry when the Celtics fans stacked the final voting.
