Stephen Jackson

Former Sydney Kings player Stephen Jackson continues to star for the Golden State Warriors push for the playoffs. Jackson top scored for the Warriors in there 24pt win over the Jazz which propelled the Warriors into 8th spot, a position they should be able to hang onto with there run home.

Warriors vs Mavs in first round should be good, seeing the warriors have 2 win over the Mavs this season. Although over 5 games, Mavs should progress. But hey im looking forward to this!

An injury cut his season short and was replaced by someone? Anyone know?

Would haved loved to see him play in the NBL, would have absolutly dominated you'd think? What is he, an atheltic 6-8? As a guard/forward? Tough to stop in our little league.

He far from dominated. As anon said above, he got hurt at the Powerhouse.

At the time, I think he was on the verge of being sacked, averaging <10ppg in a handful of regular season games.

Don't forget, in 98 he was fresh from high school, had been a 2nd round draft pick, but wasn't good enough at the time to stick on an NBA roster.

Very raw at the time, from memory.

Despite his off court issues, nothing but credit to him for getting to where he is

Jackson is just a streaky player. Every 5-10 games he will go off for a big one, but on the season averages 15ppg, on 42% from the field and 31% from 3pt. Hardly allstar numbers.

He is also a wildly inconsistent defender. While he doesn't have great footspeed he can use his length quite effectively to challenge shots. When he was playing for the Pacers he was sometimes the best defensive option for guarding players like Rip Hamilton and Dwyane Wade.

However, he complains consistently to the refs, such that he will not get back on defense atleast a few times per game while he is b1tching. Sometimes if he has a bad start to the game offensively it will majorly effect his defense.

He won a title with the Spurs because he had a well defined role and a more than capable backup in Manu Ginobili.

If the Warriors make the playoffs they will get smoked by the Mavs. btw, all the rounds of the playoffs are best of 7 since last season.

15ppg and 42% from the field is solid in the NBA.

How wrong you were. I believe today Stephen Jackson smoked the Mavs.
