Where is the NBL at ?

Was watching the EuroLeauge final on Monday and was thinking how far behind the NBL is from Europe. Is the NBL well known around the world or not really? Just thought it would be good to hear people's views on the NBL and where it stands compared to other professional leauges where players seem to make more money comapared to here.

I think that The EuroLeauge has alot more depth in there rosters but could players like Sam Mackinnon, Anstey and Bruton crack the EuroLeauge do you think? the competion is obviously better but i think the NBL has alot of talented players that could compete at that level! Would you say that the NBL is a tough leauge though and attractive for specatators?

Carlos Powell in the NBL last year - 28 PPG or similar. Maybe 8 RPG?

For a Ukrainian team right now, something like 10 PPG and 1 RPG last time I checked.

Yes, those guys could all get good gigs in Europe, though I don't know that they'd star.

What we have to offer is a safe, English-speaking environment and the chance to be a bigger fish in a small pond.

I don't think the level of talent in the NBL is anything to be ashamed of. We're a country of 20 million people. I usually find the games entertaining, and the players get paid OK considering that many have 4-5 months spare to suit for a team in Europe, SEABL, ABL or NZ NBL and get some extra cash.

The biggest issue I have with the NBL, is just how much potential it has to be a major 'World League'. Little marketing over the years has killed the image.
