Stephen Jackson was a King

Did Everyone know That Stephen Jackson played for the Sydney Kings one season. Kings got rid of him after one season due to injuries and now he is a quality NBA player Kings would be kicking themselves

Umm, right. I'm sure had the Kings not cut him he would still be here.

Actually, the Kings signed him as an 18 year old if I remember but never played an official game. Played the preseason, including a game against the 36ers but broke his leg before the season started.

That`s a good one ;)

He was a dead#### out of high school when he came here (followed unscrupulous agents advice and nimnated for the Draft too early)... For all we know had he stayed here he might have got cut anyway - played some CBA or Philo League and faded into the sunset ala Korleone Young / Leon Smith... or possibly become the real life version of Tyrone Biggums (we just dont know)... I think Jax was close to emulating these guys - he just got lucky... There`s hundreds of guys playing around the world who are probably just as good - but the chips just don`t fall their way... But when he came here he was pretty useless as far as i can remember... and chippy at that...

Look here for the record what happen Jackson was he was drafted by the Phoenix Suns and did'nt make the team then came to the Sydney Kings at the age of 19. Jackson took a while too settle in and started to pick up his production and sadly early into the regular season he broke his foot and was out for 3 months. He was in a team that had Scott Mcgregor, Shane Heal, Matt Nielsen, Aaron Trahair, and Stephen Whitehead, and Bruce Bolden coached by Bill Tomilson.

As for Johnny Sack saying Jackson was hopeless you are so wrong. The only problem for Jackson with the Kings was jackson was a scorer and the Kings really had plenty of offense so Jackson to some extent was not a good fit. Anyway Jackson had some strong praise by the time he left and apprantly some in the organisation wanted to Hang on to Jackson but because he would be out so long with the injury it was decided to let him go. He was injuried earliar in the season my guess was like round 6 but he definitely had played some regular season games and was not cut before preseason as stated. His Injury would start a disatorous season for the Kings with a record 7 imports would go through the doors. Heal would leave for Europe after the season and would slam the Kings for not being able to recruit.

Jackson is in an NBA player because perserverence, it sounds Johnny Sack your jealous saying other players in the world are better then Jackson. Well if there better then Jackson they would be in the NBA! JAckson is a talent the only real neagative thing about him was his character is poor. There have been alot incidents involveing JAckson imcludeing his involvement in the pistons palace brawl and the gun fired in a street at night outsidea strip club, the Pacers traded him because they thought he was a bad influence on Danny Granger.
