AU Women's teams get new sponsors
Basketball Australia have announced new sponsorship for the Opals (senior women), Sapphires (U21), Gems (U19), Gliders (wheelchair) and Pearls (intellectually disabled) teams.
And could the links be any more perfect? The sponsors are Australian Opal Cutters and Australian Pearl Divers, both part of the DeStoops Group, involved in the gem trade.
The tie-in will see the teams auction off jewellery and gems for fundraising purposes and receive the same for individual and team awards.
Cue headlines about digging, unearthing, etc.
