Should clubs change their uniforms?

should clubs review their uniforms ?

obviously one would not impose juniors having to purchse new ones - but a slow integration of new clobber for some clubs may be worthwhile.

i thought woodville where getting new cossies ?

some clubs have classic setups which are ok - personally cant stand the screen printed tops - sorry eagles / flames!

shoud forestville juniors go back to the yellow to save club clashes they caused by switching to blue.since they preached they were the longest serving member club back when they changed, now we are a new regime with equal rights fairs fair i say!!!!!

clubs should enforce their uniform,eg.you see north at the classics very neat and tidy sturt not far behind then west come in dressed in t-shirts of all different styles not a good look.

This has all been discussed before. Forestville players had to purchase the yellow alternate top as Centrals refused to do so many years ago.The uniforms are expensive enough without continually changing them.

West have a good junior uniform, be good if it was the reverse of what it was (black with red trim) or intrduce that so they still have their red uniform for games vs Southern, Norwood....

Many parents struggle to buy one uniform, let alone get another for cosmetic reasons.

The last thing that people should be doing is making basketball more expensive.

Get your facts right. Forestville's uniform has always been blue. Stems from when they were West Torrens (before moving in to Forestville stadium). Senior wear Gold to avoid colour clashes. BasketballSA rules (from BASA days) states that Norwood should wear red and Centrals wear white when playing Forestville at junior level.
At one time all clubs were supposed to have alternate colour uniforms at all ages - some clubs complied, some refused to.

All clubs use reversable training tops. Put nos. on the reverse side and use that in the event of a colour clash. The only extra cost to parents then is a set of nos..

#138257, "At one time all clubs were supposed to have alternate colour uniforms at all ages - some clubs complied, some refused to."

Very easy way to fix this; an automatic 10 points lost at half time would have stopped the clubs that "refused" this long ago.

I work for a company that flagged a uniform change to its front line, deal with the public personnel a few years back. The lead up time to compliance was approx 3 months. A large section of employees who liked the old uniform said they would refuse to wear the new one. Head office, hearing this, changed the compliance time from 3 months to 3 days with any employee refusing to wear the new uniform suspended until they complied. The result was that within 3 days all but 1 employee had the new uniform; the one that didn't could not get his size and was allowed to wear the old one while a new uniform was being ordered.

Who runs basketball in the state? Clubs or BA?

Compliance with anything should never be an option.

"Who runs basketball in the state? Clubs or BA?"

No one knows. Used to be the clubs though but now it looks like BSA will.

#138257,

Therefore Forestville should change their colours to gold, the same as their seniors, so they do not clash with TWO other teams at the junior level.

Logic - therefore it will not happen!!

Why not have reversible playing singlets? Home and away colours, teams can choose to always wear their home colours and change to away only when the other team is the same colour.
