The NBA is Full

Interesting article on ESPN:

http://myespn.go.com/nba/truehoop

It talks about the consequences of adding 60-odd players a season, every season, when far fewer players voluntarily retire.

Unfortunately, it points out:

"Hello, Greg Oden" is to be followed shortly by "Goodbye, Luke Schenscher."

Hopefully Luke finds another team to sign with. Best of luck big fella!

The NBL I'm sure have looked at other local competitions such as the AFL and ARL leagues to see when the best time for them to start the NBL season is.
If we start considering international competitions well we might aswell pack up shop and move overseas.
You have to be competitive in your local market, its a downside that to do that it confilicts with the NBA and Euro League, but would be far worse to compete with the 2 of the biggest sporting codes in this country.
