Well Brooks would be guarateened a contract, Newley isn't. The two have nothing to do with each other. This falls in the who cares bin.

Aaron Brooks is a star.
He tore it up in college last season for Oregan. he's a scoring machine with the Ability to hit tough shots in the clutch.
Houston also signed Mike James and have there Guards from last season Luther Head, John Lucus Jnr, Spanouliss and Mcgrady who sometimes plays out of position at forward. Not sure if there still running with Rafer Alston as well making it 7 Guards before Newley gets a look cant see him in the Squad this season unless they have a terrible run of Injuries.
D-League for Brad IMO.

i reckon you're right surmdog.

they do have a nice run of guards to choose from, he will have to put on a big show in summer league to get a chance. cant see that happening though, there will be too many minutes to share around, for him to get decent court time.

On Paper it seems like we( Rockets) have one to many guards. but that may not be the case. Vspan has indicated he wont be returning. John Lucas 111 and luther head are gonna be included in a trade packiage to net us a PF( Powerforwad).that will leave us with James, Alston and brooks as Primary PG guards. rummor is that Alston is gonna be on the block to. so maybe james and Brooks are the only certianty players.

BTW, it'll be very tough for bad to make the roter. he'll have to compete with Snyder, Wells, Novak, reed and Tracy McGrady for the swingman minutes. the rockets see brad as a 3 year project player.
