FIBA rankings are out

Australian women ranked 2nd behind US.

Australian men ranked 10th (no points for coming 5th at last tournament?. US are 1st?? Have they won anything recently? Argentina 2nd? Went badly at U19's.

This ranking system is rank!!

Overall Australia is ranked 2nd (thanks largely to our women's teams) go girls.

Fair enough that US women are ranked no 1. But the men's team? 2000 was the last time they won anything.

USA will always be number 1 if you go buy tournaments US have one heaps more than everyone else. I agree they shouldn't be number 1 going by recent results. I think our ranking is correct if you go by recent major Mens Tournys. If they went by all the mens including 19's and 22's then we would be a bit higher.

That's just it flip, they do go by all mens tournaments including 19's 21's etc. They are weighted the most if it is a world champs or olympics, less if it's a zone champ. Australia didn't get points for 19's because they came 5th this time and 1st last time. Each time the championship comes around the points are dropped fromt the last time that championship was played. Where as the US who came 5th last time, came 2nd.

This is based on my ranking system. Only based on latest world champs all age groups and last olympic results. US are number 1 based on consistency across all age groups. Greece have not done well at U19 or U21 level, if they had of done marginally better they would be number 1. If you were just going off senior results, US would be back to 3rd or 4th.

france =200
Argentina =200
australia = 200
canada = 150
turkey = 100
brazil = 50
china = 50
