O'Neal welcomes trade to Nets Lakers

Jermaine O'Neal has welcomed a trade to the Lakers saying that he would rather not be caught in a franchise that is rebuilding and wants to be moved to a contender. Two teams have showed interest in him being the Nets and the Lakers, the Lakers being his preferred option.

I read that Lakers have offered Bynum and Kwame, but Pacers want Bynum and Odum, which the Lakers won't do.

If Pacers could be talked into taking Kwame and Bynum (which isn't THAT bad a deal as Bynum could be the next big center) then the Lakers would have Kobe, O'neal and Odum. If everyone stays healthy that's another new big three, to go along with Boston's...

I think the Pacers will HAVE to trade O'Neal as he can opt out after this season.

Hmm, just tried in ESPN's trade machine and the Lakers will have to add someone else other than just Bynum and Kwame to match O'Neal's 20mil salary.

If you add in someone like Radmanovic, it works:

The Pacers dont have to trade JO, he isn't going to leave ~40mil on the table so he can sign for MLE. He has also said that he wouldn't disrespect the Pacers by opting out and leaving them with nothing.

Bynum, Brown and filler isn't enough value for a 6 time allstar.

Bynum and Odom may be too much for the Lakers to give up, but given how little leverage Kobe has given the Lakers, they might have to make that deal if they want to keep him healthy.

Not sure id go through with it if i were gms for some of the team but it would trade to stars that are wanting out.
