Adam Morrison tears ACL

Charlotte Bobcats forward Adam Morrison suffered a left knee sprain with 5:23 left in the third quarter of Saturday's preseason contest against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Today's 9 a.m. MRI showed however, a partial to complete tear of the ACL, and Morrison could potentially face season-ending surgery.

What do people think this will do for the Bobcats this season?

Not a whole heap. They have their SG now and although Morrison was lookin to be an improvement it will not affect them a great deal. Sad though after a bad rookie season he was really looking good to imrpove his numbers this year.

Wallace, Richardson, Herrmann, Carroll can fill all 48 mins at both wing postitions without a problem for them. Derek Anderson can also fill in at 2 guard so as they stand they can cover his loss. Just wish this team could have a shot at playing with a full side with now May and Morrison both out for the season before it even begins, on top of 2 injury plagued years.

They are rooted in the front court now... As if losing May wasn't bad enough... Now they will be forced to platoon the SF/PF position... Hopefully Brezec is back to being the player he was 2 seasons back - otherwise it's going to be a long season (especially considering how good they were looking coming into it)...

This is a huge blow for the Cats. Firstly to lose McMay for the season and now Ammo... hell....

This seriously impacts the depth chart, and now puts increasingly more pressure on their rookie, Dudley to step up and fill it up behind Carroll who nows backs up J-Rich at the 2. Walter is going to have to play the 4. Coach V has a problem with playing Emeka at the 5, and in PS has refused to play him there and went with Twiggy. If Twiggy is starting it's going to really hurt.

Brezec has family issues and his head isn't right at the moment.

The frontline is really really thin already and given the injury problems throughout the Cats history expect Emeka and Wallace to miss around 10-15 games each.

I'm now looking towards the 2008 Draft to get some 'big' help. Ammo was 1 of the Cats better contracts that could of been used to trade for a big.

I expect the Cats to be one of the worst rebounding teams in the league.

Slightly on or off topic, did you know he not only smokes, but chews tobacco too? Isn't it great when someone with so much potential is happy to ruin it all by sucking and chewing on virtual cancer?

and to add all of that he is also a diabetic...

Can't see how being a diabetic and smoking on top of chewing can be good for you..

I wonder what they do now??? Juwan Howard is not happy in 'Sota (and is a 1 year deal with a 2nd opt)... Maybe the cats could take him in exchange for soome 2nd rounders (not sure about the $$$ parity tho)... It would work for the Wolves (they are down to 15 bodies once Edwards gets cut), Charlotte (they plug the frightening inadequacy at PF that they have), and Howard gets a chance to show his wares (cause he aint getting PT in Minny) in the hope of a trade to a condender before the trade deadline or an opt out and sign next year...
