Random NBA Buzz

Something I received this morning that I thought some of you might be interested in.

NBA source told me via telephone on Wednesday night that Zach Randolph is on the trading block, and that he's likely to end up in Milwaukee.

Blog

Stoudamire was recently replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Mike Conley. The veteran's issue isn't that Conley received a promotion; rather, that he's suddenly not
playing.

Heisley understands, which is why he's working with Stoudamire on a buyout that could be finalized any day if the 13-year veteran is willing to forgo part of his future earnings.

"Damon wants to play. He's at the end of his career and I understand that," Heisley said. "He's been an outstanding teammate, leader, captain and person."

Z-Bo..... yuck..... terrible terrible trade.

If Larry does this then he takes the mantle as the worst GM in the league away from Isiah.

The rumoured deal involves Simmons/Gadzuric for Z-Bo or Simmons/Gadzuric/CV for Z-Bo/Balkmann.

Although i think the trade is a bit dodgy things just arent happening in Milwaukee. Hopefully Randolph will , (if the trade goes through) be able to make things happen for the bucks.

What another black hole there??
Redd does that well enought. Terrible trade.

Bogut will never see the ball now, should request a trade himself.

The rumor has been squashed

"But while speculation runs rabid, HOOPSWORLD has learned the rumors of Randolph to Milwaukee hold no merit.

Two sources close to the Knicks both confirmed today Randolph, who is averaging 17.1 points and 10.4 rebounds per game this season, is not Milwaukee bound. One source noted Randolph "playing with Yi (Jianlian) and (Andrew) Bogut makes no sense," while the other source vehemently questioned Thomas' spotty wheeling-and-dealing history altogether.

But while a trade to Milwaukee may not be in Randolph's future, one source did not rule out that general managers around the league may be asking about Randolph and Chicago could be a more likely fit for Randolph, considering the Bulls need for a low post scoring presence.

Randolph arrived in New York as part of a draft night trade with the Portland Trail Blazers in a packaged deal for Channing Frye. Thomas presented the acquisition of Randolph as his answer to helping the Knicks and Eddy Curry in the post, but with the Knicks abysmal 9-25 record, Thomas' experiment has all but failed in more ways than one.

Randolph has been demoted to the bench already once this season, a move by Thomas Randolph openly questioned through the media, and most recently Randolph was suspended one game for throwing his headband at referee Tony Brother in a Knicks loss last week to Sacramento.

Although Thomas stated the players on his roster are "all untouchable" before the Knicks lost to the visiting Houston Rockets on Wednesday night, he also said "it is safe to say we have our ear to the ground" when a reporter asked where the Knicks are in general trade discussions.

And with the Zach Randolph's recent benching, and on-court antics it's any wonder if Thomas is telling us only as much as we need to know about who is really "untouchable."

Isiah really is off his head and will forever be the worst GM in the history of the NBA....

Surely Chicago wouldn't go down the Z-Bo route. Yeah they need a low post presence, but not that badly.

Z-Bo is a team killer, just like Crawford and Marbury. Teams improve once they get rid of them.

Please Chi Town, don't do this!

I would much rather Bogut than Zach " I need to go to a strip club on bereavement leave " Randolph!

Thomas will destroy the Knicks if he is there too much longer...

Is the only thing suggesting that the Knicks aren't already destroyed the fact that they're yet to declare bankruptcy?

Yes, and the fact that New Yorkers still turn up to the games..Even if it is only to boo the team..

Seriously though, it is a shame that Dolan does not open his eyes, and see exactly what is happening to his franchise. It is like the Clippers of the 90's all over again!

Dolan has an issue about paying out Isiah's remaining contract, which I think is in the area of $20 mill over the next 2 years.

Oak, Ewing, Starks and co must be disgusted. Isiah has trainwrecked one of the proudest franchises in the NBA into a complete and utter laughing stock.

This is worse than the Clippers of the 1990's. The Clippers were just cheap and refused to sign top level free agents or their own restricted free agents. They relied on their lottery rookies to carry them and then refused to extend them once they became eligible for free agency cash and a lot more than their rookie contracts paid.

The Knicks are just plain simple idiots, and I apoligise to the idiots of the world for comparing them to the NY Knicks.

I saw on Ebay yesterday that some dude is selling 'Fire Isiah" t-shirts for $5.00

He will clean up with them TR!

Agree with you, and surely Dolan would just bite the bullett and pay him out. A lot of cash, but Dolan can afford it.

He will, I bought one as well...

I agree, surely a successful, healthy Knicks franchise is worth more than the $20 mill it would cost to pay him to f-off.

The damage caused will take years (look towards the 10/11 season and beyond) to repair, or at least another $100 mill to buyout shitty contracts. The Knicks should be praying that by the 2008/2009 season the players have had a gutful as Curry, Crawful, Q and James have player options. If they all walked it would wipe $37 mill of the books, but why would they walk when there isn't anyone stupid enough to pay them what Isiah will pay them.

Have a look at these disgusting numbers, and the majority is all Isiah's doing:

HOLY SHIT!

Stick a fork in 'em..

Marbury on 20mill...WTF?

Dolan, pay out Isiah, and get a Knick legend in that front office in some capacity, even marketing. Otherwise this team is going to be run out of town ala Charlotte!

Nice research there TR, pity Isiah is out of your jurisdiction, surely he could be arrested for attempted murder of a franchise.

Could we suggest that Dolan appoint Anthony Mason and Charles Oakley as "special assistants" to Isiah, and whenever he starts to suggest something stupid or even THINK something stupid Mase gets to pimp slap him - while Oak shakes a photo of the Pearl in his face while screaming "RESPECT THE HISTORY, RESTORE THE PRIDE" ... and then punches him in the throat.

The NBA bailed Cleveland out of a similar situation in the early 1980s, when the owner/GM spent ridiculous amounts of money and traded away all their picks.

It's time for David Stern to do something similar, esp after all the off-court issues there. I still think this video is one of the best going around and sums it all up (has been posted before).
