Hey folks,
I've just bought myself a PS3 and want to know how many of you have played both and which is better? I played NBA Live 2008 the other day and wasn't at all impressed, especially with the pace of the game, the shooting arrangements, and the general lack of excitement involved.
I want to try NBA 2k8.. anyone played it and what are your thoughts?

2k8 is awesome once you get the hang of it.
It's much more involved and less arcade-like than Live, and the graphics and gameplay are much better.
Be careful, it gets very addictive :)

haha cheers. I am much more into those sort of games - exactly why I prefer Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 over FIFA 2008. That's good news, I was thinking they might both be flops..

Hey Lockstock , you are obviously a true sprots fan if you prefer PES over FIFA , IMO it is no contest .
For similar reasons 2K8 has its way with LIVE in realism , skill level and enjoyment.
Think i might have me a game before watching the JAZZ vs SUNS game today .

2k8 once you get the hang of it....
found myself breaking down the defender, then going for the layup... and jason kidd misses... ahhh
i missed so many layups in the few days i hired it!!

Gotta go for 2k8. Hooked had the same problem, but once you play it a bit more you get the hang of it all.

Give it time to learn and you will get so much more out of it than Live!

I've always played NBA Live, but I bought this year's edition and wasn't impressed. So I made the purchase of NBA 2K8 when I saw it going cheap, and it is [B}much[/B] better IMO.

Does 2k8 have flagrant fouls and hard fouls?
If yes, what buttons do you press to make it happen?

Don't think they do. Your best bet would probably be Madden if that sort of thing floats ya boat! ;)
