So is this tournament not allowing people from Adelaide if they are not members of a country association? The conditions also appear to exclude a group of guys getting together and entering if they dont have a womens team.

After a small discussion between Associations & PPBA BOM Members an ammendment to nominations is that Country Associations wishing to attend can NOW nominate 1 Gender based team to attend (e.g. nominate just men to attend)

BLITZ Carnival Nomination Form - Updated

Adelaide based players/teams unfortunately are not invited to attend... (group of guys make a team up) This is a hot discussion topic though, but what is worrying is the possibility of individuals or teams having Division 1 or 2 players representing , however Country Associations are competitng at a low Div2 to Div3 level.

There is food for thought in the future that we could open it to nominations from Division 3 Metro Teams.

This would need to be viewed that NO players above Division 3 attend, but how can that be policed, unless done through trust.
Our fear is that a carnival designed to be a competitive event for Country Associations turn to a farce through individuals or individual teams coming just for a winning weekend for a easy $1,000 prize money.

Division 3 Teams are more than welcome to come down during the summer to play our representative teams as did UNI SA, United District & Central Lions were going to - We also had a Social Team interested BUT lost contact through just being too busy... BUT hopefully we'll pick that back up next year.
We offer a subsidy on accommodation & put on a great spread of food & bar facilities available to drink away your losing sorrows... LOL.

The Man of Steel... I love nicknames, or did he change it by deed poll?

It's fantastic if Whyalla are coming, send in the nominations! Spewing we didn't catch you at the Country Champs!

Ideally the teams who played at Country Champs would be awesome to come, plus Whyalla, it will be a fantastic weekend of basketball... Reeling back the years to old junior carnival days... 3 or 4 games on the Saturday... Everyone sore on the Sunday - BUT - having to play another 2 games.. LOL.

Thinking about that, maybe teams should nominate their U18's to come... LOL
