Can Ben Melmeth make the NBA?

with his height and talent surely nba clubs are looking at melmeth as a free agent. can play back to the starting centres or start at seattle etc.

would be aloss for blaze but he will be in the best league of all. will be very suprised if hes not there next season.

whats everyone reckon??

Five things that would need to happen for Ben Melmeth to make the NBA:

  1. a mystery disease kills every person in the United States over 6'5"
  2. a science experiment gone wrong makes him about 10 times as good as he is now
  3. the NBA adds 40 new teams in a series of public lotteries
  4. his mum wins one of the lottery teams
  5. he agrees to play in exchange only for a lasagne from mum every second day

More seriously, I think (based on your topic yesterday under another name) that you need to either visit a hospital or quit being a clown!

no way thats insulting to the man. he is a gun, and if not nba next year where i reckon he should go, he will be with a top euro club.

Lovely work Isaac , i think he could sneak in if 4 of the 5 things occurred .

garyablett "no way thats insulting to the man. he is a gun, and if not nba next year where i reckon he should go, he will be with a top euro club."

translation "no way thats insulting to me man. i am a loose cannon , and if not glenside next year where we reckon i should go, i will be with a top euro institution .

Thats gold Isaac, I recall after Melmeth finished playing college he came out and said he will make the NBA, then they interviewed his college coach and he just laughed and said no-way and labelled him the softest big man he had ever coached.

I had trouble keeping a straigh face when I saw the title... Melmeth in the NBA... comedy at its best

and then it got better by:

"no way thats insulting to the man. he is a gun, and if not nba next year where i reckon he should go, he will be with a top euro club"

is this time for a 'you suck at the internet' pic???

I think there would actually be endless opportunities for Ben in the NBA, but not as a centre. He'd make an excellent : floor wiper, towel boy, ball boy, dancing girl, cheerleader, popcorn vendor ... organise court schedules for Isiah or Kobe ..

Can everyone go easy on Melmeth for unless he's actually "GaryAblett", it's not his fault he the subject of this seemingly very silly thread.

I agree that the thread question is ridiculous, but to his credit, Melmeth has been puting in some good minutes for the Blaze when he's not out injured (last minute brain explosions excepted!)

Actually a bit of agro is probably what his game is missing. His battle with Hinder next week should be interesting. Based on the feedback from the 36ers/Kings game two weeks ago, I have no doubt a few thousand 36er fans wouldn't mind if "Stealth" used a bit of the rough stuff on the Kocky King.

Given that SOJ related threads have dried up, I hope this isn't a sign that Melmeth is going to take his place.

Unless we find out Melmeth is the bastard son of the elder Joyce, I think SOJ has his spot on here sewn up for a while ...

I agree Isaac. Melmeth is no good and he should not even be in the nbl

That's harsh to say he shouldn't be in the NBL.

It's ridiculous to even suggest NBA but he's more than capable of playing NBL.

I'd take Melmeth as centre over Mottram.

You guys only know how to put people down but at least he plays good basketball and has been playing in the league for more than a decade. He has definitely proven that he is not a soft big man given all his achievements.

Can anyone of you even make it to leagues below NBL?

I doubt so.

The fact remains, no sane person would think Melmeth is going to make the NBA. Handy NBL player, and that's it.
