I personally don't think it is wrong providing her health, learning & career is looked after.

There is always risk of burnout, but no matter what the age burn out can occur (Shaun Tait - 24).

It was a pretty good story, hope there is no unrealistic pressures are put on her or her sister...

Must be some sort of Phenom to attract that sort of attention. That or have parents living vicariously through their children, to say the least. I mean, sending video tapes of your 12 year old daughter to COLLEGES in America?! Thats a little excessive!
Either your damn sure she's going to be the next LJ, or your putting a little bit too much pressure on your darling little child to make it in the basketball world!
Coming from a parental point of view, its good to know that your kids future education and welfare is being taken care of, but would you really be that keen to send them thousands of kilometers away to a foreign country with no friends or family?

Runner-up in last year's F1 Driver's Championship, Lewis Hamilton, had an agreement with the McLaren F1 Team when he was 13. McLaren then supported him through the lower ranks and all the way to F1 last year.

Of course, he made some dumb mistakes in his first year, but who doesn't?

And yeah, he might burn out by the time he's 30. But he'll be a squillionaire by then...
