Because he hasn't improved enough. The award isn't for improved a bit to be one of the best. It's for the player improved the most.

And even if it was for the former category, Chris Paul would win it hands down. Has stepped into the stratosphere this season.

Hedo by a long way. Has taken his game very close to the all star level this season.

Guys like Paul and Howard shouldn't get it as it's more of progression for them than it is a sudden improvement. They went from star young players to flat out stars.

I would have thought dwight could have been a eastern candidate for mvp, if only his magic had won a few more of their games they could be right up the top and he would be leading.

again id agree with bynum before his injury, but cp3 has definaytely taken his team to a new level. i wasnt expecting them to be top in the west this season at least.but cp3 was already awesome, the guys on espn yesterday said he is aiming to be the first to avg 20points, 10 assists and 3 steals. if he got that id say mvp and most improved.

Only fringe players who become starters/6th man win most improved. Good players who become great (like CP) never get it

Beno Udrih might be a long shot:

Last year: 4.7 PPG, 1.1 RPG, 1.7 APG
This year: 12.3 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 4.2 APG
