MMM's Rumour File: 36ers and Dome for sale

On the rumour file this morning, a caller stated that both the Dome and the 36ers are for sale. Given that there was a healthy degree of sceptisism regarding who owned what after BASA folded, it's an interesting possibility. Has anyone else heard anything?

segment on the radio. I think someone in another thread mentioned something like this with a particular date. Who knows, i think it would be sad if the team was sold now as it seem like their is some stability at the moment.

trust anon hmm, put a name and source to it other then rumour file and ppl may take credence,

team spends big $$$ on players suggest its not in trouble, also holmes signing for 3 years ballinger as well smells of stability in the team, dome i have no issue there have heard several times its up for grabs even heard it my be used for another low profile sa sport in the off season but doesnt like that will take effect .

i just dont see a top shelf import and a top shelf aussie signing for 3 years knowing it would be up for grabs again, and a coach signing as well. unless it was part of the contract.

dicko, isaac you got any indication one way or the other, i know you mite not be able to comment isaac but dicko is usally right on the money...

thomo, you automatically assume that the sale of the Dome and 36ers spells doom and gloom. With Hemmerling's business expertise, it may be seen as a positive move. Positive because he may be looking for a buyer with a lot more money to make the club more successful. He is a business expert but may be limited by finance. I can see good things for the club if the finance came from elsewhere and Hemmnerling remained as a manager.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Sam Shahin (Peregrine director) is involved.

News up here is that Eddy needs to get out and Mal is out canvasing options for him at the moment.

One part problem for the sale though is it now is clear who has owned the team all along.

I also think something is up, but it would have been known to the club well before the Luke/Jacob signing which is a good sign IMO.

Come on people, this is hardly new news. When you consider nobody is getting paid until 1 July, Sam Shahin sits in on the interview process for the new coach, please put 2 and 2 together.

As I read the above; Sam Shahin has the funds and genuine interest to buy the dome from Eddy and the sixers from Mal on 1/7/2008. Would I be correct?

Mal presumably bought the Sixers at a bargain price considering the organisation was in administration when he bought it.

Maybe he has spruced things up, signed some big players, and can see now as his best chance to cash in on his investment?

Eddy was the one who really funded the Sixers, Mal was just the representative.

man it will be real tight.

for Scott to be working for free until July is pretty sad. If this is the case.

wonder if they are still paying the old coach

Several people have been approached Pickard one of those but all have said NO.Mals asking price of 8 million may be the reason seeings as Eddie paid 4 million.I know he spent money on up grades but not that much as for a good business man that would be questionable based on that. The real question is who really owns the team
