Ng in Singapore good news for Slingers

Darren Ng was yesterday presented to the media in Singapore .

Already his involvement is resulting in positive marketing opportunities for the Slingers with local newspaper TODAY running good articles about the team twice this week including photoes of Darren . This is close to more offical support than the team received all of last year from all of the newspapers.

At yesterdays pressentation the Slingers also announced the signing of Sam Harris 221 cm tasmanian rockie from Old Dominion University ( NCAA) .

Chuck Harmison was at the launch and insisted that the Slingers would still factor in the NBL's future plans when the details are expected to be announced in June.

There is still a lot of talk about Philippines national player Jason Castro joining the team but no final announcement yet .

Local player Pathman Matialakan will stay with the Slingers while the team is saying good buye to Koh Meng Koon and popular Michael Wong who is returning to his former job at the university . The Slingers is in the process of selecting another local player who together with Marcus Ng is said to join as development players.

Great signing of Sam Harris

Another legit aussie 7ft3 centre. Should be interesting to see how he goes

Darren and Marcus will serve the Slingers well, good on them. I really think Darren is going to have a massive year, I'd be willing to bet he is in the top 10 scorers in the league next season.

Sam Harris is a big unit but lacks quality at this stage, but still, another decent pickup.

Kad, don't blame you for that bet - Darren is pretty hardy and will find ways to score despite added attention. Last year with the 36ers was proof.
