36ers safe from penalty over Gibson talks

There's an article from Boti today about the 36ers being safe from penalties from the league over their negotiations with Adam Gibson.

The Bullets' 21-year-old playmaker had the club's written approval to potentially secure his future elsewhere during uncertainty over the Bullets' future.

The 36ers brought Gibson to Adelaide for talks while David Kemp's consortium was negotiating with Eddy Groves for purchase of the Brisbane franchise.

Gibson subsequently re-signed with the new Bullets organisation, his dealings with the 36ers - and South Dragons and Townsville - unlikely to incur any NBL scrutiny.
And here's a quote from Potsie:
Yesterday, 36ers operations manager Paul Bauer said Adelaide had nothing to fear from any NBL investigation.

"We were talking with Adam, but once it looked as if the new ownership bid (for Brisbane) would get up, we stepped away to let him focus on that," Bauer said.

They stepped away? Gee, how noble!
