NBL Fast Facts, Round 5

Some interesting bits and pieces from this round's NBL fast facts email:

Glen Saville's 17 3PA last week were a career high and one short of Charles Thomas' club record.

Darnell Hinson's 0/10 FG last round was just the second time in Cats history that a player has had zero makes from 10 or more attempts. Tony Ronaldson went 0/12 against the Kings in 2006.

Kavossy Franklin's scoreless game was his first game without a made field goal in 139 games.

Over the ditch, the Breakers are the league's top scoring side and they'll face the worst in the Blaze. Gold Coast's 82.6 PPG is the second worst in 24 years. The Taipans managed 78.3 PPG in 2000 on debut.

Rick Rickert is NZ's only import, yet his 15.3 PPG beats both Blaze imports combined. Juaquin Hawkins is averaging 8.6 PPG and Luke Whitehead 3.5 PPG.

Average import output per team:

18.1ppg Melbourne (Ere 21.3, Grizzard 15.0)
17.2 ppg Adelaide (Ballinger 19.8, Tyndale 14.6)
15.9 ppg Townsville (Williams 19.8, Ellis 12.0)
15.3 ppg New Zealand (Rickert 15.3)
14.5 ppg Cairns (Thomas 14.6, Abney 14.4)
14.5 ppg Sydney (Low 18.3, Gruber 10.0)
12.3 ppg Wollongong (Rychart 16.4, Franklin 8.2)
11.5 ppg Perth (Hinson 12.0, Victor 11.0)
11.4 ppg South (Groves 15.2, Darden 7.7)
6.0 ppg Gold Coast (Hawkins 8.6, Whitehead 3.5)
In the last nine quarters played by the 36ers, they've been outscored by a total of 80 points.

Adelaide has featured in the three biggest margins so far this season, losing by 38 and 28, but beating Townsville by 27 in the opening round.

The Dragons, against the Spirit, are attempting to string together three consecutive wins for the first time in franchise history.

The Spirit have come back from double-digit deficits in their last three games to win. They have their best fourth quarter aggregates in the comp.

The Crocs have won 15 of their last 16 at home.

Ben Knight, suiting against the Crocs, will hit game 350, and is the twelfth most experienced active player in the league.

Cortez Groves is averaging 4.5 PPG at home, but 20.5 PPG on the road.

Do you think Cortez Groves believes in the "no sex before games" rule?

Looking at those facts our imports this year are having minor impact to other years in scoring.
Is that because we have weaker imports because of lower salary cap and general financial restraints that is all except Tigers and guess what team has best import averages. More likely is my thoughts that our Aust. content is much stronger these days.
But Hinson and Franklin numbers are low to last year hope FRanklin doesnt find range against us.

Trust me Franklin will Kill the 36ers, 36ers have the worst defensive guards in the NBL by a country mile.
