Crocs bury Blaze after 19-0 start

115-92 in the end. Live scores box here

Cedar with 22. Averaging 9.8 PPG in just 20 MPG this season.

NBL match report mentions the Crocs starting the first quarter 19-0. Ouch.

Not the best result for the 36ers incidentally.

Its not that bad a result for 6ers, we own season series over the Crocs and as long as we knock them off at the Swamp all will be merry. What is good for the 6ers is the fact the Tigers just went from 5 up in the fourth to 26! Wildacts will be a clear loss behind us now.

Isaac, do you know if the ladder has been updated? How can Adelaide and Perth be sitting in 4th & 5th with 52% win ratio & Townsville is showing 6th with 54% win ratio?

Hood, would've been better for them to lose though. Was about to say the same re Tigers.

EC, might be an error on the NBL site.

Yes it was an unfortunate win on the 36ers part
now dropping to 5th. It does however seem more likely that Townsville will lose on Thursday in New Zealand than the 36ers lose in Cairns on Friday. Hopefully that will be the case because we will already regain 4th with the Townsville loss and maintain it with a win in Cairns. Isaac, have a good chat with your brother and emphasize the importance of winning that game.

Crocs 36ers will be a massive game i reckon. ALOT to play for. Love this part of the season, and its great to be in a comepetititve position which hasnt happened for a few seasons. Townsville are just way to short for our bigs and Luke is on fire atm, 14-11 with 2 at home would be a nice place to be in.

In the press conference tonight,Brendan Joyce became.............................

CAPTAIN OBVIOUS!!!

Gold Coast coach Brendan Joyce said his team tried its best but that it needed to improve its starts.

"It has been a concern for us for a couple of games, our start against Townsville last game wasn't that flash," he said.

wasn't that flash????? IT WAS 19 NIL.

I wonder if he thought of calling a timeout at 10 nil, 13 nil or even 15 nil.

i believe joyce did call a time out. He is referring to the starts against the dragons and the crocs the last few weeks.

I hate to say this as i am a fan of shane heal, but since his return the blaze have been woeful. the blaze played much better with daniel joyce starting and controlling the point.

Exactly Drb

Shane cant seem to get it through his head that he needs to be a passer first on this team and help to create open looks for Harvey and the 2 imports. Sure if we run an offence and it ends up in Heals hands for an open shot he takes it but that needs to be the last option - NOT the first!

Dan clearly has many shortcomings at this stage of his career but he is very unselfish and does at least try at all times to get his team mates the ball at the right spots on the floor. How successful he is at this however is debateable.

Id like to see Heal retire from playing at seasons end and take up a position as an assistant coach as his experience would be invaluable off the court (and he is still irreplacable with regard to marketting and exposure to the general public)
