Everyone I've talked to about this who is somehow in the footy world seem to have no problem with this at all - they love the competitiveness. Everyone else (including me) thinks he should be sacked. He's not a good enough player to be putting up with this crap. I wonder what Cam Cloke was saying while Setanta had him locked up...

Two things I want to know:

1) When do Carlton play Sydney?

2) Will Setanta get to stand big bad bustling Barry Hall?

Don't think he'll get to play on barry hall.
While a bit of comptetiveness in trial games is good.
This was over the top.
Although only a trial game, there were AFL umpires and he's been reported.
Striking and kicking he'll be suspended for 10-12 games.

Just on a more serious note - The Cloke brothers (I'll leave out Jason, as he seems to have been relatively trouble free off-field) seem to attract this sort of thing it seems. This incident (I assumed the kick as aiming for the testicles, by the way), Travis' almost gang-bashing on the Gold Coast earlier in the summer, plus a few other decently-publicised altercations in night clubs since they've came into the league, including an assualt charge being laid against them. I'm a Collingwood supporter, and whilst Cameron now plays for our main rival, I think he and Travis should maybe sit down and have a think about whether they are maybe bringing this kind of thing onto themselves. I understand there are dickheads around, but (moreso in relation to the off-field incidents, but it also applies here) if these incidents keep occuring, maybe it's their own attitude that (even unintentionally) might be getting them into trouble.

Still, fair whack from Setanta. Looks like he had Cameron beat with the big punch, and just gave him the kick afterwards just because he could. Kind of like this other recent classic:
