Adelaide 36ers star Willie Farley has been named the National Basketball League Philips Player of the Week for Round 19.
The 195cm American guard averaged 28.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.0 steals for the week as he helped his team to a 2-0 record which solidified Adelaide's hold on third place on the Philips Championship ladder.
Farley was instrumental in the 36ers upset 118-112 overtime victory over former ladder leaders Wollongong on Friday night. Despite playing against one of the top teams in the league on the Hawks much-feared homecourt, Farley had a game-high 33 points as well as four rebounds, seven assists, five steals and one block to lead his team to a remarkable victory. Farley had 13 points in the third quarter alone on his way to a 12-of-26 shooting performance from the field that included 6-of-10 three-pointers.
The smooth Farley also top-scored for the 36ers in their important 105-100 win over the Cairns Taipans at the Distinctive Homes Dome on Sunday, racking up 23 points as well as six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
One of Farley's closest competitors for the NBL's weekly honours in Round 19 was teammate Dusty Rychart. The American import forward also had an outstanding week as he averaged 25.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists for the round.

Still, I though Dusty would get it over Farley.
