Under 19 Four Nations Tournament

Basketball Australia has scored a min-coup in the lead up to the U19 World Championships in New Zealand (commencing 2 July 2009), securing 3 of Europe's strongest nations to play in Melbourne from 26 June to 28 June.

Greece, Spain and France will play a round-robin series involving the Emu's at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre.

All four teams have a strong reputation at the Under-19 level with each able to boast a podium finish in the previous three Under-19 World Championships; Spain claimed the title in 1999, Australia won in 2003 with Andrew Bogut and Brad Newley, while France and Greece won Bronze in 2007 and 2003 respectively.

It will also be the venue for the latest FIBA clinic for referees. A refresher course for the exsisting referees and a chance for some new ones to be accredited
