Do you mean the Vic men, or women?

Their women just scraped home against Tassie today, 135-25, and probably would give our guys a better run than the Tassie men.

My second-favourite stat from the Vic-Tassie women's game: Tasmania turned the ball over 50 (that's FIFTY) times.

My favourite stat: Tasmania had six times as many 3-point attempts (13) than they did foul shots (2). Even better, they missed the two foul shots.

That is some quality basketball.

Tasmania should be relegated and there should be 2 victorian teams.

They got more rebounds than points, almost got more fouls than points, and one player had 5 fouls in less than 9 minutes.

50 turnovers is incredible.

In the SA Men game, Kersten had 18, Ingles 14 and Wood 12.

SA just lost Qld 80 to 52. Ingles 13 points on 5/12 shooting and Pini 12 points on 5/16 shooting with 8 rebounds. Sa went 2/22 from beyond the arc with Ingles' at 2/7 the only player to connect. Sa shot 30% FG for the game, 9% 3PT and 47% FT (8/17). Maybe the rims are a bit hard in Newcastle.

maybe instead of playing out beyond the arc with all the shooters in the team should had worked to get the ball inside.
Whats that i hear a team full of individuals bar 2

Anonymous,

What height do SA have? compared to other states they are small, thats why they shoot from outside.

SA Women just beat Qld in OT!!! Qld men are apparently huge they towered over our guys!

I'm not sure of the make-up of the team height wise but Ryan K at 6 feet tall was the team leading rebounder for the match. Indicates maybe the team lacks a strong inside force.

it could also mean that the team is unable to go hard because players where picked who have been carrying long term injuries and only trained lightly leading into the tournament.

One thing I noticed about the mens side is that they never throw the ball inside. Even if blokes like Bungey, Hoban and the first year bloke from the Tigers have great position in the block they are just ignored by the guards which is crap because that isn't a bad big man line up at all.
This SA team doesn't have a Newley or a Holmes who can come off screens all night and rack up 30 pts and keep the side in the game, so they were always going to struggle, which is why they need to go inside more.

Give the boys some credit, It is the first day, They are all top players, and all have induvidual skill. Lets support them rather than knock them.

I think we are knocking the coach in allowing them to play the way they are, not the players. You know even at this age group they still need direction and if they are not getting it they are then individuals, and not TEAM players.
Individually all great players and nice kids but it is a team sport and need to work as such.

Some people on here just don't understand the game of basketball. Why would you get the ball inside when they are going up against players with a significant height advantage. This team will rely on shooting from outside. Good to see the girls doing well.

SA have bounced back with a solid win over WA.

Kersten and Ingles the main scorers (Kersten triple double).

Looks like QLD are the team to beat, defeating Vic quite comfortably after beating SA yesterday.

Men look like a struggle to make medal rounds (top 4 only?). Fifth now, with games against Vic(2nd) and ACT (4th) to go. Will need to hit their straps.

Women 3rd with games against NSW and WA to come, who are 2nd and 4th respectively.

Aint over til the fat lady sings!
Good Luck!!

16 points at 8/23 shooting with 0/7 from the three point line and not one trip to the line. Ouch! Damn big thud after a triple double.

Another interesting result last night was that the ACT boys got over Qld, who up until then were looking a strong outfit.

Qld smacked our boys by 30 in the first game, and have also done the Vics by 15.

Vic did the ACT by 20 when they played, and to add further intrigue SA's last two games are against Vic and ACT.

A 3 point loss to Victoria 68 to 65. Ryan Kersten had 16 point on 4/22 shooting, Daniel Lalic had 15 on 7/17 and Joe Ingles had 13 on 5/13FG. As a team they shot 34%FG but 40%3PT.

My new favourite stat for the week comes courtesy of today's Qld-Tas boys game: in 40 minutes of basketball, Qld got whistled for 4 (that's FOUR) fouls. Total. The whole team.

And the SA boys have just creamed ACT by 35 - are they still a chance playing finals?

Dick - but he was the only legit big man on the team? Lalic too small to play big at Nationals and Woody is more of a swingman. Why not start Hobo then for balance?

Why were the North boys there?!

libertine have a look at tom rowe's stats he also does s lot of the 1%ers that dont make stats
you would rather bungey who isnt playing well to rowe who obviously is
i believe kinsmen would go with the best team possible on the day ingles kersten and lalic have shot poorly all tournament
shit happens!
