Could Wade stay with Miami?

Everyone keeps talking about the 2010 free agent class and how LBJ, Wade, Bosh etc might find a new home but looking at Miami's roster they looked well positioned to keep him and possibly lure another big name.

Wade is a chance to go to the Knicks (maybe even as strong a chance as LBJ) but what if Miami could lure someone like Bosh or Dirk to team up with Wade? That surely would be enticing for Wade to stay, plus most NBA players would like the idea of playing in Miami.

Miami only owe money to Beasley, Jones and Cook beyond 2010 which leaves them with heaps of room to play with. Any thoughts on the chances of Miami being a genuine contender in 2011?

Well things are wide open thats for sure. Hopefully they keep Wade, sign a few more big names and get rid of O'neals disgusting contract. Beasley should be a super player in 2011 aswell.

O'Neals deal is up at the end of the year anyway, i think, so it's off the wage bill regardless. You gotta remember when he signed that deal he was basically a 20pt-10reb player.

Miami are going to be huge players in the 2010 FA market. I think players will be more willing to go to Miami than New York. The Knicks don't have anyone at the moment, at least the recruiters at Miami can say come and player with D-Wade.

oh, and by the way, Miami has no income tax and some of the best weather for NBA cities..... both huge draw cards for free agents.

There isn't a sports agent alive that would suggest a client choose Miami over NY if the salaries on offer are the same.

The only reason an agent would, is if the players choice is between their current club and NY and the agent wants to create a 'team first' persona for their guy.

Otherwise, the attraction of being part of the NY revival, plus the bonus stats players get fom coach D's system would be too hard to resist.

D-Wade isn't going anywhere, Miami will have big dollars to spend to bring in some big names. Wade, Beasley and Chalmers (plus cook to a lesser degree) are an awesome young base to build on.

Miami will have room to sign another big name or 2 to help Wade out. He bring appeal to someone considering joining the Heat.

Marketing, nightclubs and the weather will be big draw cards also.

"There isn't a sports agent alive that would suggest a client choose Miami over NY if the salaries on offer are the same".

I recall Perry Rogers managing to convince one of his clients (a role player from the Lakers called Shaquille O'Neal) to go to Miami (as part of a trade including Odom, Butler and Cook) on the promise of a good climate and playing with an up and coming young guard.

I believe it's possible for Miami to land another big name. The Heat are not the small market brand they were 10-15 years ago. Hell the city even has its on version of CSI
