interesting to add no Vanderbilt player played more than 30 min. And Vanderbilt isn't even a college ball powerhouse.

They might not be a powerhouse but they have a really good team this year, and Vanderbilt has been pretty successful in the post season the last decade making the Sweet 16 twice I believe.

UCON, Duke and NC arent even the top ranked teams for next season anyway.. Your talking about Kansas, Kentucky, Texas and Michigan State.

Vanderbilt is a fringe Top 25 team in the preseason poll and you know the scariest thing about them right now? They have a freshman coming in who wasnt eligible to come on tour with them on the tour by the name of John Jenkins, who is said to be the best shooter in the incoming class of Freshman in the NCAA, he averaged like 50pts a game in Highschool.

uhh..think VU ranks #55

I wouldn't be so sure top NBL will definitely beat them but it'll be interesting.

It is fairly arguable to think whether NBL guys can keep up with the athleticism of those kids while NBL guys may be more experienced.

When you talk about top colleges many have NBA-ready players eg. Thabeet, at 7-3 he'll be headache for any NBL team.

Vandy is a team that is being talked about as being a potential fringe top 25 team. They have an entire returning class this season and should do quite well, particularly if AJ remains healthy unlike last season.
In any case, they should certainly be aiming for a place in the NCAA Tourney this coming season.

Top 25, top 55 it doesn't matter. It makes a damn good college team.
Someone said they've made the sweet 16 NCAA tourney twice in the last decade? Sounds like a pretty strong program to me.

still, if a powerhouse team was here it's different. if you really understand the system, making top 25 in US system is a 'prestige' achievement and unless you make it in you won't really be seriously considered.

also with really good programs they generally stay in top 25. top 25 from year-year don't have many teams fall in and out. this year only 2 teams squeeed in to top 25. so it is an exremely difficult achievement.

right now, VU's still outside looking in and I'm not sure if they'll be in the mix anytime soon.

Vanderbilt's trip to Australia has gained notice and exposure through ESPN. Coach Stalling shelled out the $100k for the team to make the trip out of his own pocket! What a coach!

"Stallings covered the trip for 16 players, the five-person coaching staff, trainer, manager, strength coach and a few administrators."

Their games and results against Dandenong and Kilsyth also get a mention!
