Is Cambage the next big thing for the Opals?

Melbourne's Herald-Sun have run a story on Elizabeth Cambage following her efforts at this month's under-19 world titles to earn all-tournament selection and go close to winning the event's MVP award.

plain and simple, yes. Cambage is getting the right coaching and development at the moment. Previously it has been debated over who is better Cambage or Tippett? IMO Cambage is not only the player of the future but has an opportunity to make an impact in the present.

There really never was a debate between Tippet and Cambage.. You can't compare an athletic 3/4 swing man to a 6ftwhatever dominant center.

Give Cambage a year under the tutelage of Tom Maher, Gary Fox and Michelle Timms at Bulleen along with involving her in the Opals squad with Graffie and you are going to have one hell of a center IMO.

Jackson seems to have someone to pass on the banner when she retires post London 2012, but the real worry is and always has been who will take over for Harrower.

Too much focus on athletic 3's and 4's at the tute, we're inundated. Let's get in some quality point guards!

Cambage is only going to get better at Bulleen.

Going to be opportunities for her to play in the WNBA and anywhere she wants in Europe. The key for her is to stay in the right program for a couple of years beofre she makes the jump.

The money, fame, fortune will come without a doubt -
she will dominate against most WNBL teams, but her physical size won't get her as far in the European league and she needs to work on other parts of her game.

Gretel Tippet cannot even be compared. Not smart enough, has no idea when it comes to running offensive sets, shes still very young, and maybe that will come as she gets older but boy, she isn't what everyone is saying she is!
