Oh, the Sixers lost, I think they are going to struggle over the next six months because of this result.

Anyone who didn't score 30+ at 60% or better should be sacked.

Counterpoint to that: Tyndale had 30 in a regular season game.

Still, any newcomer deserves a chance to prove themselves over a few games before being judged as "recycled import = terrible!!1".

Gilchrist 25/5/4 at a good clip, Ballinger 15 and 10 plus 3 blocks, Herbert another decent game of 12/6/4, Groves and Ng with 8 each. Coops had 6 and 7. Not much in the way of stats from the younger prospects.

Cattalini's 22 paced the Cats who had 20 from Redhage and 15 from Lisch.

Gilly's pulled in some good stats by the looks. 5/9 from 3s. Unfortunately the rest of the team went 4/22. But good signs so far

No real mention of Groves in the write up. I hope he is just shaking of the rust & can step it up in the season proper.

Nice debut by Gilchrist. Good to see Herbert and Ng rack up six boards each and 7 assists between them.

With the Cats playing a zone would have liked to see a big points haul from Ng. Oddly, it looks like he shot okay from 2 point range and went 0 for 3 from the 3 point line!

Groves is a concern at this stage. Hope he shows some better form in game 3.

Are people seriously expecting Groves to be a gun?

No... but I at least expect him to not be a negative.

Groves will struggle, not a good choice as the second import. By all reports, he is taking his sweet time getting rid of the rust!

This time last year Winitana and Bruce had powerful debuts in pre-season games and Sturt looked pretty good. At the moment Cooper is in good form.
Groves looks alright to me at training with his experience. I don't expect him to be a negative. He could be a gun in some games.
Need a few games to see our newcomers (as Isaac mentions)

Groves hasnt played since before last Christmas - give him some time to get back into the groove.

Groves isn't the player he used to be. The decline comes quicker in guys who have always relied on their athleticism much like Farley. Groves is in his 30's now and I'd expect around 13-14ppg at a poor percentage and not much in the way of boards and assists from him.
