Boomers have new naming rights sponsor

BA has aannounced that the Boomers have a new naming rights sponsor!

Golden Star, a Chinese company with several sporting commercial operations, has signed as the men's national team naming-rights sponsor for the next four years.

The Chinese Golden Star replaces the home-grown Australia Post as naming rights sponsor, a deal which expired at the end of the 2008 Beijing Olympics from memory.

As per standard BA corporate policy Basketball Australia has withheld the financial details of the agreement, but the deal has been described as "generous" by BA's General Manager of Commercial Operations, Dominic Teakle.“We’re extremely happy with the financial arrangement,” Teakle said.

Wonder how much of it is covering costs to attend tournaments in China?

Probaby a good portion I reckon. Expect us to play quite a few more tournaments in China over the next 4 years. At least it means we may get good competition as China's $ and growth market may also attract the US and top Euro teams in the lead up to the 2012 Olympics.
