Tigers sign Ben Knight and Tim Lang

The Melbourne Tigers have finalised their 2009/10 NBL roster, with the official signings of Ben Knight and Tim Lang as well as development players Ben Lewis, James Orr, Robert Stone and Thomas Stephens.
The Tigers full squad in 2009/10 includes: Mark Worthington, Sam Mackinnon, Luke Kendall, Ben Knight, Nathan Crosswell, Tommy Greer, Daryl Corletto, Daniel Johnson, Matt O'Hea, Tim Lang and Chris Anstey (injury waiver). The development players include Ryan Bathie, Ben Lewis, James Orr, Bo Westover, Robert Stone, Thomas Stephens and Edin Zunic.

Kendall/O'Hea
Mackinnon/Greer
Worthington/Lang
Knight/Johnson

They will need to bring in an import or other signing at some point or that line-up might not be too competitive.

Geez, amazing that they didn't bring in a import rather than this Lang fella.

Kendall, Knight and Croswell are all good players but not with all 3 as starters. If i was a Tigers fan I'd be worried, but also curious as to what the Tigers have up their sleeves.

Paul (who no doubt will post later today) suspects they'll bring in an import from November on - that would allow them to get someone better for the same price.

Dont think it will be Donte. Tigers have maintained that they will not spend money this year after huge loss last year. They have filled their roster with young kids who are willing to take peanuts and since they still have to pay Anstey for "coaching", couldnt afford to pay Donte as well in the salary cap.

They might slot kendall at the 1 abd try to get hodge or a import SG.

Kendall
Hodge
Sammy MaC
Wortho
Knight

There current lineup is at best top 4.

Dont Understand, you are right about them not wanting to spend money and to get back in the black, but they still have a decent amount of money left from what they were to prepared to spend for the season.

They would like Donta Smith, but whether he'll come at the right price or not is another question. No doubt Wortho will be working him pretty hard to come over!

But I think there is money there for an import if things arent going well - remember if they are on the bottom crowds drop.

If someone like Smith helps them win games and puts another 500 bums on seats ( = approx $20K per game with ticket sales and merchandise, and approx $100K for each home playoff they mightnt have got otherwise) then that money would be well spent.

Did you even see him play in the SEABL this season?

He actually turned his team's season around once he joined and formed one of the best SEABL front courts in the league.

Sounds like you have never seen him play before, just guessing based on stats
