BSA announce WWBC move

BSA announced the worst kept secret in basketball today on its website that Woodville were moving to that venue lock, stock and barrel. What still hasn't been made clear is what will happen with the co tenant 'Magic'? Woodville are relocating and will establish offices and one presumes a bar etc.
Can two clubs operate independently from one venue or has there been a merger or take over? Both clubs have remained very quiet on the events taking place which leads to the assumption that all is not well within the union.
If as announced, Woodville are going to operate a social comp as well where would that leave Magic?
Where are all you people in the know, spill....

Does this really necessarily have an effect on the Magic? It's not as if Woodville own St Clair, they are just taking up as a tenant.

Don't Norwood and Torrens Valley both use MARS as a home venue?

Cat , can a combined 60 plus teams operate out of one venue? If Woody's are running a social comp as well that will take away available court space and time. Norwood, I believe, are looking for a home to accommodate their numbers because it's not working at Mars and a nearby leisure centre is about to overhaul its facility which will be interesting.

Peace keeper - Booga hasn't been at Woodville for quite a while. I don't think he's coaching at all anymore.

I believe the BSA message states that Woodville are 'keen' to have Social Comp running out of St Clair.
Big difference betwen 'keen' and 'fact'!
Woodville are "keen' to win Womens ABA next season! Fact is __________
Magic have been shafted, and may turn to a stronger club with less "personal history"

hanging round,
It's hard to believe that Woodville would have instigated such a move or been proactive enough without the blessing and assistance of BSA. Are you suggesting BSA shafted Magic?
Alas, Magic were, IMO, very foolish not to act earlier from a position of strength (having a stadium) and sought the best deal (merger) with either Wests (where there was no animosity or history) or bury the hatchet (in the ground, not head) with Woodville.
Why such a merger did not occur with Woodville would revolve around the two matriarchs that run each respective club.
Merging now appears Magic's only option because of the loss of the stadium otherwise players will be absorbed by both Woodville and Wests by attrition.
It does appear strange however that Woodville was allowed to take over St Clair which was the home of Magic thus seemingly designating Magic to extinction. On the surface it appears like sanctioned genocide.
It remains , I agree, contentious that Woodville have the expertise or coaches to run a successful Sturt like comp on any viable scale but I guess they could always ask Magic to lend a hand.

Just to clarify a company called CASA runs St.Clair. BSA have had a deal with CASA in the past whereby BSA ran basketball activities at St. Clair and paid CASA for the courts. Those competitions were run by a prominent Magic member but for BSA not Magic.

Magic were based there but did not 'run' the venue.

Woodville will now be based there but CASA will continue to manage the facility.

BSA is forcing all clubs to set up Domestic Competitions or face the real risk of not being involved in the District Basketball program.

Woodville need a venue they can get courts for on weekends, and not be bumped out for things such as NBL and WNBL games.

BSA have been a large part of Woodville's move to St. Clair.

BSA will see the end of Magic, Torrens Valley from District Competitions. BSA will probably also see the end of 1 possibly 2 'Member' clubs as it continues to enforce is ill-planned, unworkable master plan.

Its a pity it turned out this way for both clubs and a reconciliation wasn't achieved. Magic had about as many teams as Woodville (around 30 each) so killing Magic for Woodville seems an odd way for BSA to go about growing the sport.
It's doubtful Woodville will make any better fist of this venue than they did in their last and BSA should have insisted on a merger between the two.
Instead of a positive union for the betterment of basketball in the state all that seems to have occurred is the demise of Magic in a short sighted support for a club that has a limited future with its dwindling numbers.
A merger between the two clubs would have been a positive and good news story for basketball and been a win/win for both clubs.Magic would have got Div 1 access and Woodville would have got numbers and thus strengthened their prospects.
Right now its just another bad news basketball story where, Magic, an offspring of Woodville borne out of dissatisfaction and animosity was not welcomed back like the prodigal child but sacrificed in the vain hope that Woodville would rise from the ashes and be successful.
I hope for the sake of basketball that Magic find a partner and survive.

if the true be known warriors offered hand of reconciliation to magic - magic have chosen certain pathway - is the message doing the rounds - maybe story is wrong but woodville were very keen to get magic on board maybe too keen - obviously more numbers
believe could be another club looking to have magic as partners way out west - maybe even a three way deal
magic seem to be in fairly good place at the moment with clubs chasing them think the structure and stability of magic appeals - with near 30 teams magic is a an attractive club to get sweet with

Magic has nothing to offer except numbers as it will not get Div 1/2 spots. The longer that their club does not get 1/2 spots the easier it will be for other clubs to pick off the better kids to go play div 1 and 2. i esten took the choice of going alone and i think it will back fire on them due to the new regualtions of Div 1 and 2.

Magic only have a narrow window of opportunity to find a bedmate as their numbers will fall away with the warriors having their stadium. Magic made the right decision not going with a stagnant woodville outfit but they need to get off their butts and make something happen yesterday.

No one should merge with Magic.

BSA will end the club with their vision of the future.

Magic will cease to exist anyway, why make changes to a club with an actual history to keep alive a club of 3 years which never should have existed in the first place?

If woodville did merge with magic then Lyn wouldn't have to coach every team
