CJ at 2010 WC?

I have heard that CJ Bruton has retired at International level. Is this confirmed? I know that the WC is a year away, but on his current form, retirement seems most premature. I'm no Brett Brown, but Bruton-Mills-Gibson/Dellavedova would let me sleep better at night than Mills-Gibson-Dellavedova at this point in the three youngsters careers.

I have not heard anything about him retiring from International basketball. I knew he didn't play for the Boomers this past off-season due to his recovery from ankle surgery...

If what you say is true, that is a great relief! I have great respect for all three of the new youthful playmakers, but feel that leaving CJ out would be exposing them one major tournament too early.

Has Markovic improved at all since he left the Pigs? Is he a Boomers quality point guard?

Have not heard anything about Markovic over recent times...where and who is he playing for these days and how is he going?

Brett Brown cast a broad net over potential Boomers in his recent programme but, in terms of potential point guards, neither Markovic nor Aaron Bruce participated. In Bruce's case, I believe he was unavailable due to completing a degree overseas. I have no idea whether Markovic was unavailable or uninvited. His most recent games appear to be for Bennetton Treviso in the Italian Serie A where he had limited minutes. He is no longer a part of their squad. No idea where he is now.

He is back in Serbia - on a loan contract I think. He has been a back up in leagues comparable to the NBL, and hasnt developed an outside shot from looking at the stats.

Prob not at the same level as Mills and Gibson. We definitely need CJ's experience in Turkey, let's hope this is just an unsubstantiated rumour..

Maybe we should just naturalise 'Homicide'? Problem solved.

Convince Kyrie Irving to play for Aus since he was born down here :p Patty might end up warming the bench then if he did.
