Injury curse hits Blazers again

Portland Trailblazer centre Joel Przybilla has gone down with a major injury. Przybilla sustained a ruptured right patella tendon and dislocated patella in the first quarter of Tuesday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks.

IMO this will probably just about end his season due to the serious nature of the injury. Przybilla's injury comes on the back of the fact the Blazers entered the game against Dallas with just 11 fit team members, with the following players unavailable due to injury:

- Greg Oden (knee) - out the season
- Travis Outlaw (left foot)
- Nicolas Batum (right shoulder)
- Patrick Mills (right foot)
- Rudy Fernandez (back pain)

And to cap it all off, coach Nate McMillan ruptured his right Achilles' tendon on 7 December!

One senses the trade for a big man that became a possibility when Oden went down for the season, has now become a necessity with Przybilla out for at least a few months as well.

So which of their guard's gets traded to make way?

I could see Mills being traded and that could be bad for him

Would it be bad if Mills was taerded to a team that needed a PG and meant he got court time this season? Not really!

However in all reality, Miller or Blake will be the trade bait. They have more value on the market that an unproven and injured point guard such as Mills. Work out which team needs help or an upgrade at the PG position and then work out what big men they could afford to give up in return.

ESPN's Bill Simmons suggests this following trade:

"Marcus Camby for the Outlaw/Blake expiring contracts and the rights to Victor Claver (Portland's 2009 No. 1, currently stashed in Europe). Pretty good haul for the dirt-cheap Clips -- they end up with a $4.5 million profit swing and a highly regarded European for someone who was leaving anyway."

Blazers have waived Tolliver, and signed Mills to the Idaho Stampede (D-League)

In today's game, Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge has sprained his left ankle...it just gets worse for the Blazers, at least it is a minor injury this time.

So now Steve Blake has been hospitalized with pneumonia!! WTF!!

crazy now for the blazers, if Aldridge is out they will have eight fit players for the the next game which includes their new injury exemption Shavlik Randolph and their two rookies..

maybe Patty makes a fast return from todays game with idaho!! fingers crossed!!
