Holmes and the 36ers' all-time lists
Found the following from this round's NBL by the Numbers quite surprising:
This match will be the 200th in a Sixers' uniform for Jacob Holmes. He will become the eighth player ever to reach that milestone for Adelaide. The forward started his career with Adelaide on 13 October 2001 against, fittingly, the Wildcats. The 36ers won that game and Holmes had three rebounds in just over five minutes on court, but failed to score. He has made up for that since, and has scored 2,005 points in a Sixers’ uniform which ranks him tenth all-time for the club in scoring.Too busy to look up the current media guide, but a book-version of the 2002/03 one I had in the office has Mark Davis miles and miles ahead of anyone on the boards (obviously), Maher second (would've guessed he was top four - always got a lot of boards for a guard)), Bill Jones third and then Bradtke in fourth. Other bigs like Rees and Stiff just didn't play enough games to get up around that 1,200 mark.
Holmes is also ranked equal-third all-time for the 36ers in rebounds with 1,296. He is currently in a tie with Martin Cattalini (who is coincidentally now on the Perth roster) but will move into outright third place with his next board.
Congratulations to Jake - hope he's fit enough to play this weekend and add to the numbers.
