Shortest player in NBL history

Quite a large article in todays Sydney Morning herald about 5ft 4 Zac Delaney. I agree with Saville that too many people dismiss basketball as a tall man's game.

I guess it's the same as how soccer is stereotyped as an ethnic sport and the way rugby league/union are steretyped in southern states the same way AFL is in northern states.

I think it's actually pretty different to the AFL, NRL, Soccer example; there's no reason why anyone can't be good at those sports. Realistically basketball is and will always be a big man's game no matter how you spin it, sure there will be little guys who come along and do well, but the vast majority of professional ballers are massive guys by ordinary standards.

you say that it is stereotyped as a tall persons game, yet look at the impact he has had this season... zero. pointless story. he isnt going anywhere, he is just another ex-illawarra rep that gets his turn sitting on the hawks bench

I dont understand why the Hawks bring in a bloke as a development player, then get rid of him after one year?

Talor Goodall two years ago and James Quinn last year. Quinn has a teriffic debut season in the SEABL, and was coming along perfectly. Why get rid of him?

There are obviously reasons behind this, I am just curious as to why not give them at least two years?
