unlucky players include nielsen, baynes, harvey, petrie, ballinger, redhage, majok, dellevadova, weigh.

This is a great team whilst having an eye for 2012 also with development etc.

Can't see them taking that team. Sorry, to many head cases and ego for that entire squad. The US have learnt from their mistakes of the past. Too many alpha dogs.

They usually always select a 3 point specialist, and also some tough perimeter defenders and glue guys to fill out the bench.

In response to your question (being the first to actually do so), I think that the Yanks will be hard pressed to not select a winning team from that list. I won't bother picking my twelve as with so many key players becoming free agents and the possibility of injury etc., it's hard to guess who will actually be available.

As for dean brogan, way to hijack a thread, dude! However, as I enjoy talking Boomers, so much, I will engage.

I don't think Ogilvy will be there. His form has not been much better than last season, in fact, he may have even become worse. Such a young player really needs to keep improving markedly to impress coaching staff. may make it for 2012.

As for his spot, this will go to either Neilsen or Harvey depending on whether Brett Brown wants extra coverage at the wing or the post. I keep vacillating on this one, but today, I will say that spot goes to Neilsen.

As for your hard luck stories, yes, this does indeed mean Harvey is unlucky, but Baynes and Majok? LMAO!

Baynes can't spend more than 12 minutes on court without fouling out. Not that he would ever see more time than that in a Boomers jersey, but he only has to set foot on court to instantly place us in the penalty situation. Too much of a risk.

As for Majok, his performance for UConn thus far has proven that he was extremely fortunate to be considered for Boomers selection at all. He has undoubted physical gifts which benefit him at the defensive end but, at present, he is an offensive non-entity. I was a fan of his performance at the Stankovic Cup, particularly against China, and am hopeful he can yet develop into a useful player. But it will not be until the 2014 WC at least. And who knows what other talent we may unearth by then?

Martin Iti will play for the Tall Blacks too in the World Champs

Going back to the USA squad of 27--No Joe Johnson?
Could be because they already have a host of talented SG's..Wade, Bryant, Anthony ?

i like your team selection-db was a 36er-
one thing though,i can't see the upside in gibson...i've looked really hard, but cannot see it.
surely as a 3rd pg,you have to roll the dice for the future(dellavedova).
the other thing is,unfortunatly, neilsen is in.
but even lemanis and heal wont be able to get harvey in, thank god!

as for the americans...WGAF !
