only in america? players are getting paid way to much all over the world. Look at EPL and other football leagues in Europe.

But in the end professional sports teams are exactly that, it is a professional business where the clubs are there to make money. If someone has the money to offer and out bid another club why wouldnt they as the reality is they are trying to make a team, get bums on seats and make themselves a few bucks.

I agree sports people get paid to much for what they do, but for this to happen odds are the team owners have been paid to much for what they do as well.

The clubs aren't running at a loss the money has to come from somewhere each season, as much as I dislike the amount they get paid when it could do so much good elsewhere............it's a business, they bring the money in from paying fans, endorsements etc....they get a salary to match.

Tv rights are a huge part of the $$$. The game is so popular over there & their are 280m people. A big reason why the Mark Cowans of the worl are Zillionairs!

Nothing more pointless than trying to pretend or wish that the amount of social good an occupation results in is what should determine the amount of pay. Its never been that way with capitalism and it never will be. Its market value, its what your worth, its what you can demand. Your wage is money, its not social capital. They're two totally different things.
