Tigers sign Tragardh, Greer, Lewis

The Melbourne Tigers have started putting together the pieces of their 2010/11 NBL roster, with the official key signings of Cameron Tragardh, Tommy Greer and Bennie Lewis.

Tragardh has signed a three year deal with the Tigers, fresh from averaging a team high 16 points per game (ppg) for the Wollongong ahm Hawks in the 2009/10 NBL Grand Final Series. Tragardh, the 2008/09 NBL Most Improved player, was rewarded for a great 2009/10 season with All NBL Third team honours and will be a key part of the Tigers frontcourt next season. At 26 years of age he is entering his basketball prime and with his presence inside and versatility at the power forward position, he will be a great asset for the Tigers in the seasons ahead.
No sign of Ballinger at the Tigers yet.

Not a big loss, Hawks can finally improve their front line from a Defensive point of view. Tragardh had to be hidden constantly, look at the games when he played Worthington, Redage, Ballinger, cant guard em! he is a liability. He says he is suited for the shuffle, from what I have seen, he may struggle to understand the shuffle.

Don't suppose he will still do his "pull the trigger" anymore?

was actually a decent insight..

Trig might have less defensive smarts than the broken pen lid on my desk but the cat could score in bunches.

Tigers might want to schedule a few of their homegames at the Sandpit to get the most out of him.

Trig's a great guy and I only hope for the best for him. There is a story on the Ill Merc website about why he left Woll... it was all about the 3yr deal, not just about the truck load of money they would have thrown at him.

I just get an inkling that Woll are fuming...

good luck trigger. Players coming to Wollongong, developing to solid nbl players then leaving for better offers is not a new concept for this club. He joins a long list.

The tigers aren't the only team to take players developed by other clubs - recent example with Johnson developing with the tigers and now signing with adelaide.
