Informative Your comprehensive HSH player guide

Rush - Copes wasnt looking too happy and Threatt was replaced at Nunawading so obviously the Dragons picked one dud (Price) in front of another.
25 Michael Boone - Slow, Very Slow, Horrible
23 Lonnie Harrell - Pass for everyones sanity
9 Chris Brown - Limited role, filling a spot
22 Michael Rose - Needs guards to create more for him as his jumper is cash, worth a contract as his a pure shooter.
24 Brad Bridgewater - Missed too much easy stuff and at his 4th club at ABA level for good reason.
10 Sedale Threatt Jr - Creative but no jumper which is why he has been passed on to this stage at NBL level.
11 Yusuf Qaafow - Hodges workout partner in Melb - Work on the jumper kid just like your mate.
12 Daniel Dillon - Tigers are knocking for good reasons.
14 Thalo Green - Wasnt great in the NBL 5 years ago, I think Carfino was joking when he said he would help a team now.

Fleet - All brought into Cole's team philosophy and we will there Friday.
12 Troy Jackson - Not sold on him but dictated tempo ok.
23 Willie Farley - Great shape and if willing to play for smaller budget can be an asset
15 Brett Maher - Get him the rock - still money from range
21 Chris Goulding - Unbelievable talent, got the package
20 Riley Luettgerodt - Solid but definitely not NBL standard
24 Luke Schenscher - Looked back at ease in a team which used him as the focal point. Marty Clarke will call just to please everyone on this forum.
7 Tom Daly - Didnt play
25 Chris Molitor - Didnt play
22 Oscar Forman - Really at the crossroads
32 Jeremiah Trueman - A genuine hustle player who deserves another crack at NBL.

Rays - Deep and Shanahan is serious. Lets hope he can come through unlike his last coaching gig which turned him back to suiting up again.
25 David Fisher - Played a role nothing special
14 Freddy Robinson - Talented but not sure an NBL team would take a punt.
11 Kevin Lisch - Has grown since he landed here in a big way.
13 Peter Crawford - The jumper is just so unconsistent for a Boomer.
33 Tony Ronaldson - Bear is still tough and in this format his veteran play gets him more involved against suspect defenders.
10 Damien Martin - Solid but didnt knock him jumper down like he has implemented this past season.
15 Adam Gibson - Ran the show and played the D. Jumper needs to improve though to take him to the next level.
20 Brad Hill - Was impressive in his minutes, will another team take a punt if Adelaide says sayonara.
24 Ben Allen - Needs to develop a post game if he is going to be an asset in NBL because he cant rely on his hit and miss perimeter jumper. Foul prone too in our style of play.
20 David Bowley - Filling a roster spot.

Cyclones - Least talented team on paper but they had a crack.
21 Terrence Woodberry - Had a crack, but cant remember him that well.
22 Mario Brown - They did better with him and his sore ankle on the sidelines.
14 Graeme Dann - Showed why he is the most frustraiting player in Australia because he has genuine talent. Is he worth one last punt on, Sydney will give in.
10 BJ Carter - Struggled at Ballarat last year and the jumper isnt as deadly as we all remember in the league. Is that just because he cant devote all day to being a bomber like he once could?
20 Clint Reed - Was played out of position at the Spirit and at the 3 has some nice size and inside/outside game. Has a crack.
9 Deba George - Had his 15 minutes of fame.
24 Steven Broom - Done and dusted even at his age.
11 Josh Knight - Making up numbers
12 Brad Gerlach - Making up numbers
25 Jordan Dodman - Looks to have improved since his season in Adelaide, is he wanting to make a comeback to hoops?

Monarchs - Despite all the Americans which is normally a nightmare Al Green aint gonna put up with any individuals padding their own numbers.
20 Isiah Victor - Budget import who looked disinterested.
11 Scott O'Gallagher - Not worth an import spot.
24 Martinis Woody - Finished around the hoop but nothing more than ABA big body.
12 Wayne Oliver - Dont remember him
21 Ed Millard - Brought energy and showed some game.
15 Rashard Tucker - Still got his skip and looks to have matured but at 35 just not worth it now.
22 Galen Young - Keep punting it up...
13 Brad Williamson - Will be interesting where he ends up, maybe Cairns with Boody gone.
14 Julius Hodge - Shots aplenty, hope Maher pops him behind play and Ben Fitz has to run on the court again.
23 Lance Allred - Dont remember him.

Coasters - Were the dissapointment of the day as key players didnt come at 100%.
23 D’Lancy Carter - Horrible
10 Mike Helms - Still got it and can go.
11 Bennett Davison - A tough day at the office for the dunkster. Shown he has built a jumper but playing the 5 for long periods didnt help.
15 Sean Lampley - Carfino said it all, out of shape and he hasnt played for a long while so looked a shadow of his championship days out here.
12 Luke McMillan - Dominated the BIGV for years but didnt get a great deal of opportunity.
13 Kevin Ratzch - A kid who is making up the numbers, stick to the second tier no matter how hard you battled.
4 Brad Davidson - Struggled with the pressure and as the teams only real point guard needs serious help (Maybe the owner can ask her other half)
7 Darren Ng - Legit scorer who may be best served to being a 6th man in Adelaide if they can get some good peieces but still play 30 minutes a night.
9 Derrick McDonald - Shows some of his daddy's swag at times but bounced around at ABA level for a long while now.

Pythons - Worst line-up running around. Hogey didnt know what to say.
10 Mark Bradtke - They need you big fella.
5 Tony Danridge - No show
11 Kevin Johnson - A very high opinion of ones self. Coaches aint impressed with players who come out shoot it everytime down and play no D. The hamstring show every now and then was a good comedy act too.
15 Harry Lum - Yuk
23 Corey "Homicide" Williams - Keep working on that jumper. Lucky they played you tight in the second half so the numbers looked good.
4 Dante Sykes - Cya
13 Geremy Robinson - No Thanks
7 John Rillie - Too bad your teammates didnt find you or create for you. Only legit shooter this team has.
9 Michael Florence - Didnt get on.
8 Mike McDaniel - No Way

Reef - Suprise team of the day. Gelled and all had a crack.
14 Jason Cameron - JC still got his jumper and a good vet to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
8 Nathan Niesler - You can see why Goulding is still in the system and he got lost in the wash, just doesnt do anything extremely well.
13 Todd Blanchfield - A kid on the rise and with the size of a Weigh will be interesting if another club chases him as their U/23 player if the Crocs go down a different path.
15 Blogoj Janev - Struggled today but will be on the Kings radar being a Sydney local and body.
12 David Bartholomaeus - Out of his depth
9 John Fitzgerald - Decent training fodder but nothing more.
10 Keith Borgen - Ran his mouth and just another brother out here making noise.
11 Jason Curtis - A scoring point who got to the cup, nothing special.
5 Anthony Esparza - Average QABL import and looked out of his depth. Didnt shine in any one area.
4 Stephen Hoare - Biggest mistake the Tigers made last year. The Crocs system doesnt enable him to use his passing ability to its full potential. Great veteran role player.

Great effort BanksOpen. Changed the title so hopefully more people read it.

Boone was pretty slow and horrible, but still got a few handy blocks.

Someone needs to give out a handbook at the airports to incoming imports explaining what they can get away with and what just won't work - e.g., the hamstring sulk, not sticking to the plays, etc. The teams that had the most success on the first day were those with strong NBL or fringe NBL groups or imports that had played here before. I'm surprised that a couple of owners really thought that a random group of imports would gel and buy into a plan. Game 4 really showed it more than anything else as the Reef (who were mostly fringe-NBL) showed up the hapless Pythons.

Thanks BanksOpen, that was great. Surely Townsville will sign Blanchfield? After two years as a DP he is ready to be on a main roster. Give him a few years and he could be a very good NBL player.

Would be a great signing by Cairns.

The Ben Allen listed for the Rays is the same Ben Allen that played at St. Mary's this year?

Same guy!

Blanchfield will be in the Crocs 10 this year. VERY talented youngster ans still growing at 18.

Rillie needs to get the ball but with 8 imports on his team it must be a nightmare! They need Hogey (did i just say that?)

Brad Williamson will probably join back up with Gibbo & Joey at the GC.

The Lance Allred that you can't remember, banksOpen, is a former Cleveland Cav... he is legally deaf and was the first deaf player to play in the NBA. Big White stiff i think!

Lance Allred is a gun player, he dominates the D-league and if i can remember right he was getting Jawai's minutes when he played along side him in idaho. He's a double double machine.

Thanks for the scouting report BanksOpen. Quite a few new pieces of info in there for me.

Allred has been showing he is a good player despite his disability for awhile now. NBA teams keep bringing him into camp. Might not have been up to game speed yesterday because apparently he came straight from the airport and only made it to the game half way through!

Your only comment on Troy Jackson was that he dictated tempo okay. I was surprised you didn't comment on his defence? I thought he was the standout defender of the entire day, really impacting the game with his steals and deflections. He needs to show he can shoot and distribute on offence adequately to be NBL worthy though.

Woodberry I thought showed he had a nice stroke, but got himself into trouble trying to take people off the dribble or get to the basket.

I thought Mario Brown was good early. He fought hard for rebounds and tipped a lot to his team mates, as well as consistently getting good position under the basket for easy layups. His problem was that he was just undersized and didn't have enough help under the basket.

I'm undecided on Luettgerodt. If he can show that he can shoot from range in the next couple of games, I'd say he could be a good small forward in the NBL. If his jumper is suspect, then he may struggle to score enough close to the basket against taller, more organised NBL defences.
