Trueman in talks with Cairns

Taranaki Mountain Airs forward Jeremiah Trueman is being courted by the Cairns Taipans.

The former Breakers and Tall Blacks basketballer confirmed yesterday he was in talks with the Taipans and another Australian NBL team.

"Things are looking promising," said Trueman, who is hopeful of securing a playing contract for the Australian league starting in September after being cut by the New Zealand Breakers last month.

"I had a good chat with Taipans head coach Aaron Fern and they're really interested in having me up there," Trueman said yesterday. "I'm also talking to another team, but I can't say who."
Not quite blockbuster news or a signing, but it's a quiet Friday.

"And another Australian NBL team".

- How many international teams does the NBL have? My last count was one and that team recently cut Trueman. It seemed obvious that the other NBL team was Australian.

Trueman would be a good signing for any team. Can imagine he wouldn't be asking for alot of money
