Malaise you show how much you know by asking Neal Bridgeman to spread the officials around. He is not responsible for rostering the State Champs. As happened last year, Daniel Hughes is Referees Commissioner for the weekend. So from your statement Daniel did a poor job last year. This opinion is contradictory to that of the BSA Competition Committee. Build a bridge and get over it!

Usual crap and untrue rubbish- all refs go to different stadiums and are spread around as the above post. The usual "Morphett Vale" refs is an idea brought out at this time of year- the bias at say Hillcrest and Marion surpasses any perceived bias at the Vale. And here here to the praise heaped on Daniel and his crew for last years effort- Im sure this years will be every bit as good. Stop blaming refs and perhaps think about how the players are taught and how they actually play.

Its prudent to observe clubs were all sent out info recently on expectations of players, coaches and spectators without reference to refs and officials.
Despite the obvious need for officials, the poor standard of them and their 'protected species' status adds to problem. Every week, game after game, in some venues its hard not think cheating is occurring.

Anonymous you sound like a sore loser. Believe it or not referees are human and do make mistakes. They are like players and need to practice to improve. Unfortunately their main practice is on games where there is usually a loser. Those losers like you look for scapegoats to blame. The first scapegoat is the referee. Perhaps all losers should be presented with a mirror, then they will be able to see themselves and perhaps recognize that their turnovers contributed to the loss. Or maybe poor shot selection, poor free throw shooting, poor defense......etc

Harry Hopeless- bravo well said! Some of these clowns need to grab a whistle, pull on a green shirt and have a go to see how hard it actually is to be a ref! They would be protected with the color of their shirt but would then see first hand the abuse levelled at these people. I always say if you think you can do a better job- Prove it!

Anonymous you show your bias, but sit on the sidelines abusing those who are trying to do something. The referees job is to call players mistakes when their team gains an advantage. Perhaps you should try to understand that fact. Sometimes officials unintentionally react to the negative comments and behaviour of players, coaches and spectators and appear to be biased. Funny thing about sport it is designed for one team to be happy and one team to be sad. It is how the losers cope with adversity that develops their character. It seems that you play the blame game and can't face the man in the mirror and say that you were the cause of your team's loss. It is extremely rare for an official to change the result of a game.

Seen a few games where the local refs down south have got tired of the constant complaints from the home team & got tough on them.

Running four courts all week will mean more referees for the rest of the competition will be trained at MV than anywhere else. Be nice to them, they might be your home ref soon.
