U16 girls state reseed

Probably copped a lot of flack by seed the girls from the Mount as #1, seems BSA have redone the seeding for this Division. Redraw out later today. Humble pie on menu at Findon.

All we need now is for the girls from the Mount to show us why BSA wanted them #1 in the first place.

If Mt GAmbier show why they should be number 1 then now there wont be complaints because they no longer were given a ridiculously easy pool.

Now they have to play 2 of the top 4 Metro teams not 1 as it was orginally seeded.

only one comment , scheduling more games at southern will chase kids away because parents hate the distance, metro for fecks sake.

Anon 537, since when was Morphett Vale in the country? 20 mins from Marion and Pas which isnt huge. Would be interested to hear where you are travelling from. When my child played we went the 40 mins to the Dome, 15 mins more to the Port and the trips to Mars and Hillcrest were about an hour. Only time we hated it was Starplex but luckily only went that far once. What do you want- all games at Pas ot Wayville to suit someone that doesnt want to travel 20 mins more? This argument amuses and frustrates me because if you were talking Moana or Sellicks then yes its a fair way more. But with the Expressway it actually makes South Road a heap better and its just harder in peak traffic- same as going any where in peak. So what is the real grumble? There are soccer teams that have to travel from one end of the city to the other each week, if its such a pain get your kids to chose another sport that wont burden you with travel!

meh, I know plenty of kids that travel further than down south to starplex...what about real country kids playing metro..riverland, millicent, Pt Augusta, Whyalla, Pt Pirie, Jamestown...

Time to find those bricks again...get building!

Point about Southern could be extended to Centrals and Mavs all of which are to far off the beaten track for a metro district comp. Mavs is zoned country and so they have their cake and eat it too. If you want to grow a comp, play it in centrally located venues such as the Dome, and Wayville only and maybe attract more to the sport.
Scheduling U20/21 games on Tuesdays at 10 pm at Southern is not going to attract young players to the sport or keep the ones we have. Scheduling late games on Friday 9.45 at Centrals , Mt Barker or Southern at U 18 level is a sure fire method of basketball suicide.
The two best stadiums for district basketball are now southern and starplex on the outskirts of the city. BSA planning at it's best as neither centrals or southern have a junior program worth shite. Southern recruit players from the successful clubs and centrals can't recruit.
Invest in the future BSA and play centrally
