Astor - it looks like they were dealing with a fairly limited pool. The camp included a number of bottom-age kids BUT none of the U17 Aus squad = so perhaps they made decision to go with only the top-agers from that group (I cant see any bottom-agers in that group). That age-group featured an all-Vic final last year at Gawler so a good chance they'd be well-represented.

Pretty strong AIS-contingent with a number of the non-branded AIS kids having previously held scholarships (Karatiana, Haughton, Harrington(?) and Allen seems to be on a part-time scholarship with the Tute).

The camp was for top age girls only. the bottom age girls are involved in world champs preparation.

Point taken ankles

There seems to be a real shortage of talls in this age-group. If Lepaio is your tallest player at an international competition, I'd be practicing my zone defenses... All of the center's currently at the Tute were (i presume?) preparing for the U17 Worlds instead of for this tournament, but surely a touring team would want at least 1 backup center?!

That being said, their 2-3 rotations look as deep as it gets, so that's clearly where the coaches have put their focus.

the 17s that participated were not eligible, no u17 play was for this tour, BA restricted there participation because of worlds.
