Opals European Tour

The Opals continue to build in the preparation for the 2010 World Championships and are curently on tour in Europe following a series clean sweep loss to China and a morale boosting win over USA.

Te Opals are currently playing in the four-nation tournament Felkeszulesi Torna, in Szombathely, Hungary, and take on Slovakia, Hungary and Romania before heading home.

In their firt game against Slovakia, the Opals were far too good as they won 93-63. The Aussies dominated the paint with Cambage and Tolo causing mayhem, and O'Hea was a geat foil nailing 5/6 from downtown. Tolo top-scored with 20 points, O'Hea had 19 and Summerton had 16.

In the second game against Hungary, it was a far closer affair. Despite trailing most of the game, the Opals faugh back when it counted and would not be denied, winning 74-68. Grima top-scored with 18, Harrower had 13 and O'Hea scored 11.

The Opals round-off their tour of Europe andcan win the tournament if they defeat Romania tomorrow.

The Opals crushed Romania to clinch the tournament title overnight, winning 162-23- yes that's the right score!

Cambage top-scored with 24, whilst Summerton, Grima and Phillips each had 20 each.

Hollie Grima was named tournament MVP, whilst O'Hea was the leading scorer for the tournament.
