SBL Voting- Who gets your vote???

With the Halls/Woollacott night coming up soon most coaches, captains and club delegates would be submitting their votes at the moment. Who would you give your vote to???

MVP?
Defensive Player of the Year?
Coach of the Year?
All Star Five by position?

My vote for MVP would have to go to probably Jacob or Riley for the Men.
For the Women it would have to be Madgen with Newley a close second.
Defensive Player of the year for men would be Gerlach or Matthews for the men.
For the Women it's a hands down win to Mia Newley.
Coach of the Year is a tough one but it would be Paul Bell for the Men and Sharon Symons for the Women.
All-Star five this year is pretty tough...
Men-
PG: Michael Zorich/Todd Matthews
SG: Darren Ng/Sammy Gazzo
SF: Brad Hill/Riley ABCD
PF: Jacob Holmes
C: Pero ABCD

Women:
PG:Jess Mahony
SG:Sam Woosnam (Could put her in any of the 5 spots!)
SF: Tess Madgen
PF: Mia Newley
C: Amber Land/Jo Hill

Sammy Grantham from Norwood SHOULD be a lock for defensive player of the year.

A bit of bias there "The Brad" - no way Gazzo makes it on shooting % alone. Davidson played enough games IMO and should be in.

Riley for MVP

actually think that this season has been the closest in years! how to pick a winner for the finals is hard enough but has there really been a standout player for the season from any team?

Conor Holmes should be a lock for DPOY in girls & Darren Ng should be no where near an All Star 5 team in the boys.

Who will win the U21 awards?

RE 284568 April Brown.....

Thanks Mum, I appreciate the love, but tess madgen has been kicking everyone's ass all year, so I may need to wait another year. As well mum, kat perkas has been better than me, and she is in the my team.
Do you remember the game vs norwood? Cara boothey kick my butt as well, oh and the Southern game Maddie Cunningham had 19 pts on me.

Maybe next year

Gold, Dear Mum.

Oh, April did score 10pts vs Mavs last weekend, but did it on 2-10 3s (both shot from outa butt rather than hands), 18.8% FG (3/16) and played 36 mins.

Brown
PTS 07.6 REB 02.6 AST 01.5
Cunningham
PTS 13.5 REB 02.9 AST 01.4

Who else might have a stake in it?

grantham defensive player of the year?! He has a fair few blocks ... but very few steals (this is probably because he can't stay infront of his man)

I reckon Wilson from Mavs should be in the Merv Harris Medal conversation as well.

Pts 14.5 Reb 6 Asst 1.5 also lead the league in FG Percentage 52%.

Don't think mavs won enough games for her to poll. I think she should win too, but might get popped. But then again I can't think of anyone as consistent as her tho.

How many good games did Madgen have?

I'd say she will get 3 votes every time she played well in a win and 1 or 2 every time she played well in a loss. Could be enough?

More importantly, she wont have her team mates stealing votes off her like her main competitors.
