"High octane offense v back to basics defense"
This is how brown describes the game against slovenia - somewhat curious when your team features a dynamic creator in ingles, a blur of a point guard in mills, a slashing athlete in newley, a beast on the block in maric, a finesse mid-post player / jump shooter in andersen.. as much as brown tries to convince himself this is a defensive team the fact is that most of his players are much better offensively than defensively. something about square pegs and round holes? the fact is brown as a defensive coach has no capacity to adapt his methods to the personnel avilable, which is of course what a good coach does. this explains why he insists on giving major minutes to gibbo - to go with his delusion that this is a 'defensive' team. this might get even worse when andrew gets back given he is indeed a great defensive player - but also of coruse an outsanding passer, soemthing that brown is sure to under-utilise just as BG did. anyways - here's hoping they can beat slovenia in spite of brown - and perhaps this is the one game where we really need gibbo so he can beat up on dragic.
