Joel Wagner, a point guard from the Perth Redbacks was also signed,
and against the Crocs in 27 minutes, 7 points @ 75%, 2 steals, 2 assists 4 rebounds and 2 turnovers,
and would have played more if he had not gone off concussed.

Joel retained the spot, while Luke looses out to a returning Martin.

wow im surprised they kept Wagner over Kendall, id assume points wouldnt be an issue, was Kendall asking too much $$?

Would he be a player the sixers should look at to even replace Winder and share the pg spot with Carter?

Jonno,

Wagner has edged out Kendall on ability shown in the game/s played so far. Wagner has done well, but that also tells you where Kendall is at the moment.

There must be something wrong with Kendall behind the scenes.
He never lasts for a second season at any team.
He's nearly always one of the last players signed heading into any season, (that's if he's signed at all).
He's now been released in favour of Wagner after only playing the 1 game.

He's been in a Championship team and been on the Boomers team, so you wouldn't think it's to do with his playing ability that noone wants to go near him.

Probably because Goorj kept him in shape. Also a bit tough to judge him on the one game.

Hendo, I think you might be on to something there. Could simply be about cost/demands though - never heard a whisper of him being difficult or unlikeable to be honest. Usually if someone's a bit of a pain or disrupts team chemistry, you hear a rumour.

My first thought when reading the media release was that it related to money somehow (as Jonno suggested) or perhaps the points cap if the Kings are pushing it (though doubt that; couldn't be bothered checking). Perhaps they had to pay Sanders more and needed to make an adjustment elsewhere to fit him in.

Further, Robilliard and the Kings are all about team players, that commit to the cause, heart and hustle over ego, etc. Might've seen more hunger in Wagner?

Kendall didn't ask for much money, it'll be simply that he's not game ready and wouldn't contribute much atm.
